Dennis Banning, Esq.

Dennis A. Banning has been a dedicated legal professional since 2000, earning a notable reputation within the courts and legal community of New Mexico. Currently serving as an Attorney at New Mexico Financial & Family Law, Dennis specializes in Bankruptcy Law and Probate Law. 

Dennis earned his bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Political Science from the University of New Mexico, followed by his Juris Doctor from the UNM School of Law. Over the course of his career, Dennis has managed more than 1,300 bankruptcy cases under Chapters 7, 11, and 13. His extensive experience includes representing both debtors and creditors, with a focus on individuals and businesses seeking debt relief. His work has also extended to representing banks and landlords, reflecting his broad expertise in bankruptcy law. Dennis’s exceptional skills and compassionate approach have earned him the Silver Client Champion Award from Martindale Hubbell and a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist designation from the American Board of Certification. 

Originally from Spokane, Washington, Dennis moved to Albuquerque during his youth and graduated from Eldorado High School. He has since become deeply involved in the local community, where he continues to make a positive impact. 

Dennis’s commitment to his clients is driven by a passion for continuous learning and a mission to help people achieve a better life and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.  

A devoted family man, Dennis has been happily married to his wife, Marla, for 32  years. Her support has been instrumental in shaping the person he is today. Outside of his legal career, Dennis enjoys playing fantasy football and softball, where he stands out as a catcher.
